“Jersey Enterprise Board: proposed establishment”: amendment.

1444/7(2)

A1.    The Committee noted a draft Amendment to P.194/2007 (“Jersey Enterprise Board: proposed establishment”) prepared by the Chairman, which sought to bring the new group (including the Waterfront Enterprise Board - W.E.B.) within the remit of the Comptroller and Auditor General (C.A.G.).

The Committee noted that it was intended that the Jersey Enterprise Board should be treated as a States-funded body, enabling the C.A.G. to employ auditors and conduct such reviews as he considered necessary and as provided for by Articles 46 and 47 of the Public Finances (Jersey) Law 2005.

Advocate A. Ohlsson declared a conflict of interest and took no part in the discussion or resolution of this item.

The Committee accordingly approved the draft Amendment and requested the Chairman to arrange for it to be lodged ‘au Greffe’ on 15th January 2008, for consideration by the States on 26th February 2008.
